Good Hotel Guide Review
Katrina and William Reynolds’s ‘friendly village inn’, in a sleepy part of the Scottish Borders, is an ‘excellent-value’ base for walkers, cyclists, fisherfolk and visitors in search of a rural break. Family run for more than a decade, it blends the feel of a traditional country pub with modern furnishings and artwork. At mealtimes, expect local produce: home-baked breads and Scottish seafood platters among the ‘generous portions of first-class food’. Dinner in a beer garden pod with farmland views ‘is a real treat’. Up-to-date 'lovely' bedrooms have Scottish biscuits, Highland toiletries and information on local walks; the helpful owners have tips to share.
