Herefordshire: romantic mini-moons and active walking holidays
. .
The location and the hospitality make it effortlessly romantic - a perfect place for rural weddings and English mini-moons. Walking, cycling and horse riding as well as canoeing, fishing and golf are amongst some of the favourite activities in the area, while family holidays are about getting outside in the fresh air - maybe bringing the dog with you as well. Chief attractions include Hampton Court Castle and Gardens, National Trust properties such as Berrington Hall and Brockhampton Estate and cultural hotspots such as Croft Castle and Goodrich Castle.
Oliver’s Cider and Perry or Wye Valley Brewery are an introduction to Herefordshire’s finest, and sample the area’s strong cider making tradition which has been perfected over 350 years, on the famed Cider Route, including the world's biggest cider mill, Bulmers, which was founded in the centre of Hereford in 1887 by local vicar's son, Percy Bulmer.
Meanwhile, the region’s array of market towns are a further opportunity to explore farmers’ produce at indoor and outdoor markets, visit independent shops and find out about specialist retailers in quaint, rural villages. Herefordshire is masterful with its tearooms for traditional tea and scones, while pubs and bars are charming with log fires and picture perfect locations - everything you need for a thoroughly relaxing holiday.
