Good Hotel Guide Review
Surrounded by wild beauty on the quieter shore of Loch Ness, this ‘small and intimate hotel is the perfect setting to unwind’. Owners Anna Low and Philip Crowe are ‘wonderful hosts’. Bedrooms blend period furniture with modern comforts and ‘amazing attention to detail’. In the wood-floored dining room, where a tall window frames the glorious view, nightly menus of ‘superb food’ might include cider-braised pork belly, apple stuffed with chestnut skirlie; chicken, leek and pancetta pie; celeriac risotto cake. An upstairs snug has a coffee machine as well as maps and books; in the licensed drawing room, feel free to play ‘My Heart’s in the Highlands’ on the vintage piano. (Stuart Mathiesen)
