Good Hotel Guide Review
With ‘stunning views’ over Florence and the surrounding hills, this family friendly hotel ‘couldn’t be faulted’ by a visitor. Run by the Ceschi-Perotto family (‘always around’), it stands in well-kept gardens and provides ‘good service by caring people’ and ‘excellent value’. The 1930s villa may lack ‘antique charm’, but all is ‘spotless’, and ‘facilities are excellent’. Open-plan public rooms have picture windows. Bedrooms have a smart colour scheme, wood fittings, spacious bathroom. ‘Metal window shutters keep out city noise and early sunlight.’ Some rooms, good for a family, are in a little house by the small swimming pool. The simple buffet breakfast is served on a veranda facing the duomo. Snacks are available from the bar. ‘You can sip a drink in the garden at night, roses scenting the air, the city lights twinkling below.’ Guests’ laundry is returned ‘beautifully washed and ironed, often the same day’. The city is a short bus ride away: ‘popping to and fro makes you feel part of the local scene’.
