Good Hotel Guide Review
‘Pretty close to perfection’ was one couple’s verdict on this charming hotel in a busy market village near the south Brittany coast. The restaurant, in an enclosed cloister, is ‘smart, not cosy’, filled with sculptures and paintings. The set menus are expensive, but the food is very good. The restaurant has a walled, glassed-in garden where spectacular vegetables and herbs are grown. Bedrooms are sinply furnished but large, with good bathrooms. Public rooms have ‘twinkling lights in window boxes and local antiques’. There is an ‘atmospheric bar’ with inglenook fireplace. The owners/managers, Mme and Mr Gauchet, are helpful hosts.
