Good Hotel Guide Review
Once visited by Noel Coward, Grace Kelly and Jackie Kennedy among others, this exclusive resort stands on a 110-acre peninsula near Montego Bay. A former pineapple plantation, it consists of the Pineapple House, a hotel with bedrooms designed by Ralph Lauren, and 27 fully staffed villas of two to six bedrooms. It boasts of its ‘timeless elegance, understated luxury and warm Jamaican heart’ and feeling of ‘a comfortable, and family-oriented private club’. Families are welcomed: there is a Kids’ Club for three- to eight-year-olds, and baby-sitting can be arranged. There is an infinity swimming pool and a spa in an adjacent bay, and some of the villas have a private pool. Executive Chef Martin Maginley provides contemporary Caribbean cuisine, using locally grown, sustainable produce whenever possible. Meals are served on a terrace with views of the bay or in the Grill Room; at lunchtime there are barbecues at the beach, and the bars serve informal food. Weddings are held.
